Yesterday, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted to his facebook timeline about the launching of Internet.org in the Philippines.
“We’re one step closer to connecting the world as we launched Internet.org in the Philippines today.” – Mark Zuckerberg
Internet.org lets you browse many popular websites for free.
“Now everyone in the country can have free access to internet services for health, education, jobs and communication on the Smart network.”
Originally, I felt that perhaps Globe Communications would win the partnership agreement to host Internet.org, as they were working with Facebook over a year ago.
Before downloading the app, you’ll want to make sure that you are using a Smart, Talk N Text or Sun Cellular simcard, otherwise it won’t work.
After installing, let me remind you that you need to turn off your Wifi and turn on your “Data Usage”. Once you’re done, don’t forget that you need to run the app from Internet.org. Opening other app will start charging you or deduct your load.
Here is the list of content that you can browse for free using Internet.org:
BabyCenter & MAMA
Facts for Life
Pesos and Sense

Overall, this application is good and safe for all ages. The first thing that comes to my mind is “Will this be very helpful to report crime and to help students with their projects?”.
I hope you guys like it!
